The Great Turtle

My contest Entry for art mythology contest.
The criteria was that we use one of her stock photos as stock or reference so I used her wonderful turtle stock! [link] We had to do a legend or myth from a the country were were born in or reside in.

I've always been fascinated with the Great Turtle or the concept of the island turtle and I remebered the story of the Iroquois (also being this is a Native American legend, and I was born in the USA) , it was about a woman who was pregnant with two children and she fell into a great hole and a giant turtle went to the ocean floor and put mud on his back so the woman could land safely on him. The woman then created land on the turtle which soon became North America.
